TITLE: Shoreline Protection Board Member
One (1) full term Non-Member vacancy.
LOCATION: Shoreline Protection Office, Polson, MT
Meetings will be held on the second Thursday
of each month
SALARY: Honorarium only
CLOSING DATE: Thursday February 21, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.
The duties of the Shoreline Protection Board are to regulate and review all new and existing construction applications for compliance, as outlined in Tribal Ordinances 64A (Revised) and 87A (ALCO) with their attached rules and regulations, in the best interest of clean water and environmental concerns. Provide direction to the Shoreline Protection Office and consider necessary changes in the rules, regulations and fee schedule. Each member is to hold office for a term of three (3) years and until his successor is appointed. There are seven (7) Board Members; three (3) non-Tribal members and four (4) Tribal
Tribal Members who are residents of the Flathead Reservation may apply.
Tribal Council policy adopted in March 2007 states:
“An employee of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai who is applying for a board or committee vacancy is required to submit along with the Letter of Interest, a letter signed by the immediate supervisor and the Department Head authorizing the employee to apply for and serve on the board or committee. Any Tribal employee serving on a board or committee that is not directly related to the position the person holds in the Tribal organization, is required to use leave or leave-without-pay to attend all meetings, participate in any activity associated with the board or committee, or for any travel related to the board or committee. Tribal employees are restricted to serving on no more than one (1) board at any time. ”

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Council will make the final selection.
