All positions are Testing Designated Positions (TDP) (Unless Posted) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing Policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the CSKT must pass a pre-hire drug testing and serve a mandatory six-month probationary period.

CSKT Early Childhood Services

1 or more Contract Positions may be located in Polson, Pablo, Ronan, St. Ignatius, and Arlee areas (Open until filled)

Head Start Teacher Aide- ($11.68 – $13.55)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for preschool caregivers, or be enrolled in a CDA credential program for preschool caregivers that will be completed within 2 years, OR
  • Have an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (in any field) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.
  • Have minimum of 6 months documented experience working with pre-school children in a formal early childhood setting such as a head start classroom, childcare center, etc. (Desired, but not required)
  • Must begin work on Associate’s Degree in early childhood education within first year of hire.
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.
  • Able to meet/complete requirements for primary caregiver according to Montana Child Care Center Regulations within one (1) year of employment (if required).

Headstart & Early Headstart Substitute - ($9.71 – $11.24)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must pass drug test, background check and fingerprinting, (no violence against children or individuals, no domestic violence, no sexual abuse or violent acts against children or any person) upon hire and annually thereafter; subject to random drug testing through the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe’s Personnel Department.
  • Possess current valid Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribes Fleet Policy.

Special Services Aide- ($12.78 – $14.84)

  • 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or be enrolled in a CDA credential program within 6 months of hire (may be provided by Early Childhood Services) OR
  • have an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in an education or health field or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree within 6 months of hire
  • Have minimum of 6 months experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral difficulties documented on the employment application.
  • Must begin work on Associate’s Degree in early childhood education within first year of hire.
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.

Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher – ($16.98 – $19.74)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education OR
  • a degree in a related field and 6 courses in early childhood education including one course in child development OR
  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant/Toddler Caregivers.
  • Two (2) years documented experience working with infants and toddlers, ages birth to 3 years in a formal early childhood setting such as an Early Head Start classroom, a childcare facility, etc.
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.
  • Able to meet/complete requirements for primary caregiver according to Montana Child Care Center Regulations within one (1) year of employment (if required).

Infant/Toddler Teacher – ($14.06 – $16.33)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education OR
  • a degree in a related field and 6 courses in early childhood education including one course in child development OR
  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant/Toddler Caregivers.
  • One (1) year documented experience working with infants and toddlers, ages birth to 3 years in a formal early childhood setting such as an Early Head Start classroom, a childcare facility, etc.
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.
  • Able to meet/complete requirements for primary caregiver according to Montana Child Care Center Regulations within one (1) year of employment (if required).

Family Advocate – 1 or more positions - Duty station is St. Ignatius ($14.06 – $16.33)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, or other related field, OR have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential..
  • Two (2) years of experience working with families coordinating services.
  • One (1) year of experience performing case management functions. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of community resources and skills to link families with appropriate agencies and staff.
  • Must pass drug test, background check and fingerprinting, (no violence against children or individuals, no domestic violence, no sexual abuse or violent acts against children or any person) upon hire and annually thereafter; subject to random drug testing through the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe’s Personnel Department
  • Must possess and maintain a current Montana Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribes’ fleet policy.

Health Services Coordinator – Duty station is St. Ignatius – ($22.58 – $26.30)

  • Bachelor’s Degree  in  health related  field ( such as  Nursing, Health Education, or Public Health).
    (Additional coursework related  to  Child Development or Early Childhood Education desired.)
  • Four (4) years' experience in health related  work  acquiring knowledge in the medical field, social service, or community resource
  • One (1) year supervisory, administrative, or training/monitoring experience in  child  nutrition; (desired)
  • Possess current CPR and First Aid certification with Infant/Child endorsement or be willing to obtain upon
  • Health Requirements:
    • Current Physical Exam or ability to obtain Physical Exam upon
    • Current on required immunizations or ability to become current upon
    • Verification of recent screening or ability to complete required screen.
  • Must pass drug test and complete a Criminal Record Check including finger-printing, (no violence against children or individuals, no domestic violence, no sexual abuse or violent acts against children or any person) prior to employment and every 2 years thereafter; subject to random drug testing through the Confederated· Salish and Kootenai Tribe's Personnel Department.
  • Possess and maintain a current Montana Driver's License and be insurable under the Tribes' fleet policy.
  • Computer experience in word processing, spread sheets and/or data

Bus Driver (Part-Time) – Exempt contract position – ($15.00)

  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a current Commercial Drivers License (CDL) at time of hire.
  • Have 2 years of bus driving experience.
  • Possess current CPR and First Aid certification with Infant/Child endorsement or be willing to obtain upon
  • Health Requirements:
    • Current Physical Exam or ability to obtain Physical Exam upon
    • Current on required immunizations or ability to become current upon
    • Verification of recent screening or ability to complete required screen.
  • Must pass drug test and complete a Criminal Record Check including finger-printing, (no violence against children or individuals, no domestic violence, no sexual abuse or violent acts against children or any person) prior to employment and every 2 years thereafter; subject to random drug testing through the Confederated· Salish and Kootenai Tribe's Personnel Department.
