The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CS&KT) Tribal Forestry Department announce the availability of “Camas Logging Unit (CLU)”.  All harvest and road maintenance requirements will be completed by August 31, 2019. All other contract requirements will be completed by October 31, 2019. The bid opening will be April 30, 2019 at 9:00 am at the Forestry Conference Room in Ronan, MT.

The CLU is located approximately 12 miles north of Perma, Montana near the Camas Prairie area. The harvest unit is located within the following sections: Sections 3 and 10 of T23N and R20W.

The CLU is 250 acres in size and contains 2,593 tons (399 Mbf) of Douglas-fir and Other Species.  The is an uneven-age type harvest in which individual trees are selected for harvest. The main objective of this harvest is to provide spacing between the tree crowns to reduce the potential of a stand replacing fire.
